Application
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct quality inspections of recreational vehicles. The unit includes checking that all required items, including internal furniture, accessories and appliances, have been installed and are secured/tight, opening/closing, labelled and functioning correctly. It also includes taking or organising action to rectify deficiencies and other steps to ensure the recreational vehicle is ready to be released from the manufacturing facility.
The unit applies to a person working in a recreational vehicle manufacturing facility who undertakes routine tasks according to job instructions, plans/specifications and procedures and uses discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services and contingency measures. They work with a high degree of self-direction and limited supervision. They apply known solutions to routine problems and report non-routine problems according to procedures. They are responsible for their output and have limited responsibility for the output of others.
No licensing or certification requirements exist at the time of publication. Relevant legislation, industry standards and codes of practice within Australia must be applied.

1. Prepare to conduct the quality inspection |
1.1 Identify quality inspection requirements from job instructions, manufacturer’s instructions and workplace quality documentation 1.2 Select and check all required tools and equipment are ready to use 1.3 Check the vehicle is ready for quality inspection 1.4 Identify hazards and hazard controls and check the hazard controls are in place and functioning |
2. Conduct the quality inspection |

3. Complete the quality inspection according to workplace procedures |
3.1 Check all previously identified deficiencies have been rectified and arrange to have continuing deficiencies rectified 3.2 Ensure required utility certificates are completed and available 3.3 Inspect the recreational vehicle inside and out for cleanliness and presentation and rectify any deficiencies 3.4 Complete task outcome documentation |
